Postponed dressage - news release from Shelagh Fishlock Hi everyone, I'm sure you are all feeling the effect of today's cancellation, either with relief if your teams couldn't get out of their yards because of ice, or disappointment on this cold but fine winter morning. I was in contact with Martin Irish at Leyland Court through the day as he worked on his arenas in the hope of getting them rideable, but as the temperature stubbornly stayed around freezing they were barely rideable by 3pm, and with more frost forecast he was not sure that they would be safe to ride on this morning. Combined with the number of calls I had from clubs on the east side of the area who had major concerns about their ability to travel safely, I had to decide on cancellation, as safety has to come first. We will be rescheduling the Competition on Saturday 3rd March, the only available date in the timescale we have for the Championships. I am aware this will be problematic for some, particularly that it clashes with the Beaufort Hunt Point to Point, but I'm afraid there isn't an alternative. Please could you try to get reconfigured teams to me by 20th February. I will retain entries to P12 unless informed otherwise, and will be happy to accept NQ entries to the team competition if there are individuals who want to compete but no longer have a complete team. Please let me know if you need me to email a blank declaration form. I expect there are a number of questions still to be addressed. Do please ask me, but be patient, as I'm trying to disentangle everything, Yours, Shelagh HOW TO GET ON THE TEAMS - IMPORTANT!! 1 CONTACT THE TEAM CO-ORDINATOR for the appropriate discipline to register your interest and supply details regarding points, qualifications and recent results etc. 2 BOOK YOUR TRAINING (see SDRC Events Diary). Also contact Janet Stares for seniors and Caron Roberts for juniors. See who does what? to let them know you are going for team selection. BRC Area Qualifiers If you are interested in representing SDRC as a team member you need to contact the appropriate team co-ordinator in the first place. Team members are selected through team training/selection clinics as well as your recent results in the discipline you are wishing to compete in. Don't worry if you have not competed before, as lots of different competitions at all levels are offered. You will get help at clinics and at team training to reach your goals. Please note: team members must be REGISTERED as SDRC members at least 21 days before the preliminary entry of a team competition. If you are in any doubt, please check with the team administrator for your discipline. TEAM CO-ORDINATORS See Who does what?
