Vaccinations Made Simple........
The Area 9 vaccination Database Co-ordinator needs a copy of all horses who are competing on a riding
club team or as an individual.
Riders need to send a copy of the front page of their passport, showing the horses name on it, along with the page(s) showing vaccinations back to the most recent new course started.
Before sending please check that everything is legible and nothing has been cropped off at the edges.
Email the pictures to [email protected] at least a week before you compete and every time you have a new vaccination.
If you are not sure then please check with your Team Co-ordinator.
Useful notes:
Sending in your details helps the days run better as without this system there would be a huge amount of checking to be done on the day, making it difficult for organisers and competitors.
1) The requirements can easily be found by googling BRC Rules.
2) If vaccinations do not meet the rules you cannot compete.
3) Your horse must have a minimum of the first two vaccinations in order to compete, and vaccination 3 must not be overdue.
4) You cannot compete for a week after any vaccination.
5) Vaccination 2 of a course is 21-92
days after 1.
Vaccination 3 is 150-215 days after 2.
Subsequent vaccinations are annual. Annual vaccination may be given early but not late, and leap years should be taken into account.
6) There is an online vac checker you can use to check, but you still need to send in the images.
I hope these notes are helpful. Happy competing!
